Support and Help

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This page addresses questions commonly asked about Clair, a voice- and text-capture and artificial-intelligence reflection tool. For assistance with a matter not addressed below, please contact support@getclairapp.com.

Getting Started

What is Clair? Clair enables you to capture your thoughts by voice or by text and generates private reflections and insights drawn solely from your own entries. It is a tool for clarity and self-reflection. It is not a healthcare, therapy, or crisis service.

Who can use Clair? Clair is intended for individuals eighteen (18) years of age and older who are located in the United States.

System requirements. Clair requires a compatible iPhone running a supported version of iOS.

Creating an account. You may sign up with Apple, Google, or email. Your entries are private to your account.

Subscriptions and Billing

Plans. Full access to Clair requires a subscription, which may include a free trial. Current pricing and any trial terms are presented within the App before you complete a purchase.

How billing works. Subscriptions, if offered, are purchased and billed through your Apple App Store account. A subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least twenty-four (24) hours before the end of the then-current period. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.

How to cancel. Open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Clair → Cancel Subscription, or use the App Store app by way of your account → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and you retain access until that time.

Refunds. Purchases are administered by Apple, and refund requests are therefore submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable.

Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the App or switch devices, use Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases.

Your Data

Exporting your entries. You may export your entries as plain-text Markdown files using iCloud Sync, which writes them to a folder you designate (iCloud Drive is recommended so that your files remain in sync across your devices); enable it in Settings → iCloud Sync. You may also export a compressed archive of your entries from Settings → Export Journal.

Deleting entries. Entries that you delete are moved to Recently Deleted, from which you may restore them for thirty (30) days before they are removed.

Deleting your account. Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and removes your entries and stored files (voice recordings and photographs), subject to a limited backup window. This action cannot be undone.

How AI features work. Clair’s transcription and insight features operate by securely transmitting the relevant content of your entries to our third-party AI providers in order to generate your transcripts, insights, and related output. Before Clair first transmits your entries to these providers, it requests your permission. You may decline, in which case Clair will continue to store the entries that you capture, and you may enable or disable AI features at any time in Settings → AI features. Please see our Privacy Policy for details regarding how this information is handled.
